Windows 8 is Coming. Should I Get It?

Windows 8 is almost here. We’re not recommending it yet for PCs. It’s designed for touch devices and we found the interface awkward to use with a mouse. If you plan on buying a traditional PC with no touchscreen, we recommend you purchase one with Windows 7. Microsoft will permit manufacturers to include Windows 7 on new PCs for two more years, and Microsoft will be supporting it with patches and other updates until 2020.

I actually tried it for a whole week (for testing purposes) and couldn’t get use to it, extremly awkwared like you said. For any small business, I agree, stay away from it as long as possible, this is just another Windows ME. Do you think that Microsoft will extend the 2 more years on new computers if small business resist to change?

I’m not sure it’s another ME, as the OS actually works, unlike ME. It’s just super awkward, and a lot of setting had their locations changed for no reason. I imagine if you’re using it on a tablet it might make more sense. But I hope they keep Windows 7 around for a while longer as I think it’s an excellent OS.
