LogMeIn Free is Going Away

It seems that lately a lot of software services are starting to charge for their formerly free tier of service. First it was Sugar Sync. Now LogMeIn, the service that allows you to view your computer screen remotely and control your mouse and keyboard, is removing their free service.

We use LogMeIn to access our clients’ computers remotely (with their permission of course!), but we pay for LogMeIn Central. So this news will not effect us or our clients who have LogMeIn installed under our LogMeIn account. Because we pay for LogMeIn Central, we are also able to provide access to our customers if they wish to use LogMeIn for their own needs.

LogMeIn Free was always an amazing deal. Other services, like GoToMyPC, charge a fortune for this service. Of course, if you have your own LogMeIn account and you have been relying on their free service, that’s little consolation. And some people are angry that the change has been made on very short notice. Essentially LogMeIn sent out a notice on January 21st warning users of the free service that they would have seven days from the next time they logged into their account to upgrade before they would lose access to the service. That’s not a lot of time to make a decision. Contact us to discuss your options.

Ah! Logmein free service is going away? Unbelievable! I have used Logmein a lot and is a decent service. But now as it is going away, have switched over to RHUB’s setup because it provides six collaboration services in one setup.

I would not use a service whose employees troll blogs pretending to be customers and writing false testimonials as aliasgar_babat is doing here. I would stay away from RHUB and any service that uses unethical marketing practives.
